Somalia: Abdiwali Sheikh Officially Takes Over Office of the Prime Minister

A handing over ceremony to hand over the recently vacated prime ministerial post was attended by his Excellency, the president of the federal republic of Somalia, the outgoing prime minister honorable Abdi Farah Shirdon and the newly appointed prime minister his Excellency Dr. Abdiwali Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed.

Other top government figures who attended the ceremony include some prominent figures of the former cabinet.

The ceremony was preside by the outgoing prime minister who stated that he took over the office 15 months ago from former transitional prime minister Mr. Abdiwali Gas and he (shirdon) took over from where it was has managed to implement a lot of developments politically, socially and economically.

Mr. Shirdon continued that his cabinet earned the statutes which he termed as "the new Somalia" for the changes they made during his 1 year term.

On the other hand, Dr. Abdiwali Sheikh who is now officially recognized as the new prime minister of Somalia congratulated the former premier for their hard but efficient work during the short term period.

The new boss continued that his main objective is to achieve the outreach programme and lead the country to the 2016 elections.
