Egypt: Interior Ministry - One Dead in Thursday Clashes At Azhar University

Cairo — Egypt's Interior Ministry has said that one person was killed on Thursday when students at al-Azhar University dormitories clashed with residents of the area opposite the university campus in Cairo.

Some Azhar students belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood have staged a demonstration outside their dormitories and cut off Mostafa al-Nahhas Street, the Middle East News Agency reported a ministry official as saying.

Security forces arrested 7 rioters after dispersing the demonstrators, the official said.

Clashes between security forces and Azhar students who belong to the Brotherhood have been escalating.

One student was killed in November following student protests against what they called the coup.
