Egypt: Culture Ministry to Restore Mansoura Theater

Culture Minister Mohamed Saber Arab said that the ministry of culture will restore the Mansoura National Theater, which was affected by Tuesday's bomb attack on the police HQ in the Nile Delta city.

The Minister pointed out that the renovation operations will be assigned to the Arab Contractors Company thanks to its distinguished experience in restoration and renovation of historical and monumental buildings.

This came during the press conference held by the Minister on Thursday 26/12/2013, where he visited Mansoura to inspect the national theater. Minister Arab got firsthand information about the theater that was affected by the bomb attack on the police HQ.

Parts of the theater were destroyed, as well as its front and windows. The explosion also caused damage to the stage.

The Mansoura National Theater was established 111 years ago. It is the oldest theater in the Middle East.
