Kenya: Court of Appeal Halts Digital Migration for 45 Days

The Court of Appeal ordered the Communications Commission of Kenya to halt the switch off from analogue broadcasting to digital for 45 days.
This is until an appeal by three media houses and the Consumer Confederation of Kenya seeking to reverse a ruling by the High Court last week that dismissed their application seeking to stop digital migration by the government.
The court also ordered the CCK to restore any frequencies that had already been switched off back to analogue broadcasting for the 45 day period. A hearing on the appeal has been scheduled for January 6. The full version on today's ruling by the Appeal's Court will be be delivered on January 31.
