Kenya: Treasury Gives Busia Sh250 Million

THE Busia county government has received Sh250 million from the national government for its development projects.

Speaking during a boat race at Marenga beach in Port Victoria, Budalangi constituency on Tuesday, Governor Sospeter Ojaamong said the money will spur development and improve the living standards of residents.

"I will ensure the money we have received from the Treasury is properly spent to benefit the people and spur development at the grassroot," he said.

Ojaamong called upon the county leaders to work closely with his government in fighting corruption and tribalism.

He said the two vices are the number one enemy of development.

Ojaamong appealed to all politicians in the county to bury their political differences and cooperate with the county and national governments for Busia's speedy development for the benefit of the people.
