Angola: Riot in Viana Jail Leaves Over Fifty Inmates Injured

Luanda — At least fifty two prisoners were injured during a riot occurred on Monday morning, at the Viana Prison in Luanda.

A Interior Ministry source told ANGOP that 18 of these 52 injured are in serious condition, and were transported to various hospitals.

Indeed, a commission of inquiry to investigate into the causes of the incident was created. At this point the situation is controlled by the police.
