Namibia: Omaruru Councillors to Hear Fate On Friday

FOUR suspended Omaruru town councillors, including the Erongo Region town's mayor, will hear on Friday whether or not Judge Kato van Niekerk orders their reinstatement.

In an urgent application brought before Judge van Niekerk in the High Court in Windhoek today (Monday), senior counsel Gerson Hinda argued on behalf of the mayor, Vincent Kahua, the deputy mayor, Albertus Naruseb, and town councillors Christiaan Nanuseb and Kretencia Garises that their suspension was not in accordance with the provisions of the Local Authorities Act.
