Nigeria: Al-Makura Presents N114 Billion Budget for 2014

Nasarawa Sate governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura yesterday presented the 2014 appropriation bill of N144,545,424,343.00 before the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) showing marginal increase of N4billion on the 2013 budget.

Al-Makura said the 2014 budget proposal was an entirely new exercise that is anchored on International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSASs), which is consistent with the international financial reporting and best practices, noting that the new chart of accounting system improves accountability, transparency and prudence in government spending.
