Angola: Police Step Up Coverage in Customs Territory

The national commander of the Fiscal Police, Commissioner Maria Madalena Gamboa, considered as positive the work done by the agency during the past year, judging by strengthened police coverage throughout the customs territory and the creation of tax units in all provinces.

According to the commissioner official, who was speaking to ANGOP, the agency also increased the operating capacity in the maritime area of jurisdiction, and despite there is lack of some means, the situation continues to demand more appropriate actions.

She stated that the measures taken have contributed enough to combat tax evasion and consequently an increase in revenues for the State Budget.

She said the organ also reinforced actions of customs supervision, with particular emphasis on conferences loading and unloading of vessels in commercial operations in the ports of Luanda, Cabinda , Benguela , Namibe and Porto Amboim ( Kwanza Sul), as well as searches of passenger baggage at airports, areas of land, river and sea border.
