Kenya: Two MPs Upset By Muthaura's Appointment

TWO Coast MPs have protested President Uhuru Kenyatta's appointment of Francis Muthaura to char the Lappset project. Speaking separately to the Star on Wednesday, Kwale county women's representative Zainab Chidzuga and Ganze MP Peter Shehe said the replacement of Abdulrazak Shauka by Muthaura is a big blow to the Coast region.

They said they had cautioned Uhuru against replacing Shauka with someone who does not hail from the region. "The move to replace Shauka with Muthaura is a big shock to us and it shows the President is keen to frustrate Coast region," Chidzuga said. She said Shauka had promised to speaheard settlement of Coast squatters.
