Nigeria: Peterside - Stepping Up the Ladder

For most part of 2013, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum (Downstream) Hon. Dakuku Peterside was in the news for his strides at the green chamber. Of course, his high stake in Rivers politics has equally become the talks of the town. So recently when this high-profile representative turned 43, many believed that he may be moving closer to another chapter in his life.

By most people's standards, Dakuku Peterside is a rising star. At school, he was a cerebral students' union leader known for his command of attention with his oratory prowess. School was followed by active community organising in Rivers State, where he helped built a ladder of connection between the government and the people.
