Kenya: Don't Discard Your Culture, Ongwae Tells Kisii Locals

3 January 2014

Kisii Governor James Ongwae has urged the community to embrace their cultures as it is an important pillar of development. Speaking during the annual Misesi Cultural and Sporting Day in Bomachoge Borabu constituency yesterday, Ongwae said every community should organise cultural activities to learn and also for fun.

"We cannot afford to discard our cultures. That is why we need to organise events annually," Ongwae said. He said his government has set aside Sh13 million for such events across the county.
