Egypt: Suez Canal Will Remain Lifeline for Egypt - Mamish

Suez Canal Authority Head Mohab Mamish hailed the efforts of the armed forces and police servicemen who are working around the clock to secure the Canal's waterway.

"The Suez Canal will remain a lifeline for Egypt," Mamish said.

He said 50 vessels carrying 3 million tons transited the Suez Canal on Thursday.

Interim President Adly Mansour, meanwhile, renewed on Wednesday the tenure of Mamish as chairman of the Suez Canal Authority for another year.
