Kenya: Nyeri MP Asks State to Boost Education

6 January 2014

A Nyeri MP has asked the government to invest heavily in education. Mathira MP Peter Weru said the government should allocate more funds for improving schools' infrastructure and paying teachers so as to boost education.

He urged parents to invest in education because the Free Primary Education funds are not enough. The MP was speaking at Kanyama PCEA Church in Nyeri county during the funeral service of Ngai-ini Primary School headmistress Mary Wangechi on Friday. Weru said he will oppose discrimination in form one selection.
