Kenya: Trans Nzoia County to Reward Best Boda Boda

The Trans Nzoia government will start rewarding boda boda operators who will cooperate with the government in beefing up security. County chief of staff Ronald Masindano said this after a meeting with the boda bodas' chairmen, area police boss Justus Njeru and OCS Robert Sugut.

"The best boda boda stage will be transformed into a Sacco and funded by the county government," Masindano said. He asked motorcycle sellers to ensure they insure the boda bodas.

Masindano asked the operators to regulate themselves and obey the law. Njeru said police are holding one suspect following the last week's incident where a private car was burnt by the operators. Sugut warned the operators that his officers will deal with their colleagues who will be found to have participated in cases of mob justice.
