Nigeria: UNN Crisis Worsens As Workers' Demonstration Grounds Activities

After the Christmas and New Year festivities, the crisis rocking the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) following the removal of the Pro-chancellor, Dr Emeka Enejere continued Monday as activities in the institution were grounded by the workers who embarked on a protest insisting on the removal of the school's Vice Chancellor, Prof Bartho Okolo.

The joint protest involved all the unions in the school, including the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and the NAAT who also urged the Federal Government to reinstate the suspended Pro-chancellor of the university, Dr. Enejere and remove Okolo on allegation of corruption and financial recklessness.
