Eritrea: Community Rehabilitation Workers in Gogne Sub-Zone Making Significant Input in Rehabilitation of the Disabled - Report

Gogne — The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare's branch in Gash-Barka region disclosed that community rehabilitation workers in Gogne sub-zone are making significant input in rehabilitation of the Disabled. It made the remark at an assessment meeting, during which it was noted that the role of community rehabilitation workers as regards facilitating accessibility of rural development opportunities to disabled nationals has become vital.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Habtemariam Abraha, Head of social welfare in the branch office, stated that the different types of support extended by communities and the government have borne commendable impact pertaining to improvement of the livelihood of disabled citizens. He further urged the community rehabilitation workers to enhance role with a view to raising the participation of the Disabled among communities and thus demonstrating the charisma that disability doesn't impede production.
