Nigeria: IMSI Raises Hope of Infertile Couples

Consultant gynaecologist & fertility specialist, who is also the Managing Director of The Hope Valley International Clinics Limited, Dr. Michael Ogunkoya has stated that the Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection (IMSI), which is able to magnify sperm 600 times more than the existing instrument for better fertilization and Implantation of the human eggs has been acquired by his clinic.

According to Ogunkoya: "The problem of infertility has been existing in our society for years. This problem may arise from the male, female or from both of them as in some cases. Male factor infertility may include: low sperm counts, poor motility, and poor sperm quality. However some male factor infertility remains scientifically inexplicable. The overall effect of availability of IMSI is to improve success rate in terms of pregnancy rate and take home baby rates which has become evident at The Hope Valley Clinics in the last few years".
