Ghana: Lufthansa Brings New A330-300 to Accra

Lufthansa passengers to Frankfurt can now book flights with the new wide-body Airbus aircraft. Tickets for flights on the Accra-Frankfurt route with the A330-300 are now on sale, officials of the airline said.

According to them, from March 30th, 2014, the new wide-body aircraft will depart from Accra to Frankfurt at 20:50 hrs, operating under flight number LH 567.

The scheduled arrival time in Frankfurt is 05:20 hrs on the next day. Perfect timing to connect to Lufthansa network as Europe's leading airline group that serves over 250 destinations in 103 countries with the largest network in Europe and extensives routes to North America and Asia.

The flight duration Accra to Frankfurt is 6h30. The return flight LH 566 will depart from Frankfurt to Accra daily at 14:35 hrs and landing in Accra at 19:00 hrs on the same day. Flight duration time is 6h25.

"We are very excited to offer our customers a wide-body, state-of-the-art Airbus, say Kevin Markette, country manager in Ghana of Lufthansa German Airlines.

"Accra is developing fast as a regional aviation hub and furthermore, we support economic activities with the much increased cargo capacity", Markette stated.

From March 30th, 2014, Lufthansa will operate on the Accra-Frankfurt route 4 times a week: on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

An additional flight will come from June 19th, making it 5 flights per week. Another advantage of the new flight schedule is that the Lufthansa flight will be first in line to leave and arrive at Kotoka International Airport. That means Lufthansa passengers will benefit from earlier departure and arrival as waiting time for immigration and security procedures will minimize.

The A330-300 is configured with 8 seats in First Class, 48 in Business Class and 165 in Economy Class. "The capacity of the wide-body aircraft brings in an additional 349 seats per week which is an increase of 46% - a great boost for doing business in Ghana", said Lufthansa country manager Kevin Markette.

"I am also very pleased that traveling to and from Ghana can now be enjoyed in the much acclaimed and awarded First Class", says Markette. Lufthansa's First Class achieved a 5-Star rating from Skytrax this year.

When purchasing a Business Class ticket plus 1 US Dollar customers can experience the unique First Class atmosphere on board and in the designated First Class Lounges in Frankfurt and other hubs starting from 30 March 2014.
