Tunisia: Interim PM Announces Suspension of New Tax Increases Applied to Means of Transport

Tunis, — Interim Prime Minister Ali Larayedh announced, Thursday, the suspension of the new road tax increases applied to vehicles of agricultural transport and the transport of persons pending the amendment of the 2014 Finance Law.

The decision was made after consultation with some ministers, said Larayedh at the end of a regular meeting of the High Security Council held in Carthage with attendance of the Caretaker President, the Interim Prime Minister and the President of the National Constituent Assembly.

The Interim PM stressed, however, the relevance of these new tax measures in achieving the country's financial balances and their positive impact on the middle class and underprivileged categories.
