Somaliland regional officials offered positive remarks about future dialogue with the newly elected president of Puntland state on Wednesday (January 8th), but also reaffirmed their position over ongoing land disputes between the two regions.
Somaliland's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Mohamed Bihi Yonis, who spoke to the press before the results of the final round of the elections were announced, said Somaliland would welcome whomever Puntland elects.
