Uganda: Two Chosen to Replace UNEB's Bukenya

Sources at the Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) indicate that two names have been forwarded to the Education Minister Jessica Alupo for consideration to replace retiring Mathew Bukenya as Executive Secretary.

We understand that today's board meeting chose John Bosco Ntagali and Andrew Mawejje, both accountants. The two had excelled in the interviews, with Ntagali getting 76.5 per cent, while Mawejje got 74.2 per cent, out of the eight candidates shortlisted.

The board also extended Bukenya's term to April 17, to allow him to prepare to hand over. Bukenya has served Uneb for 16 years.
