Kenya: Lusaka Stops Construction On Grabbed Public Plots
By Simbi Kusimba, 10 January 2014
BUNGOMA Governor Kenneth Lusaka has stopped construction on all irregularly allocated land in the county. He directed Lands executive John Munyasia to constitute a taskforce to investigate land grabbing in the county.
Lusaka said the move is aimed at protecting public land and property until town management boards are formed. "This directive must be clearly observed. Any plot allocations allegedly done by clerks are illegal," he said. Lusaka was addressing the press yesterday.
