Nigeria: Elizade Autoland - Jac Test-Run Participants Praise Vehicles

Participants at a test-run of JAC automobiles have described the vehicles as durable and rugged.

The JAC automobile performance test-run organised by Elizade Autoland, a division of Elizade Nigeria Limited and JAC Motors involved 10 passenger cars and eight light duty trucks and covered 120 days/20,000 kilometers on different terrains across the country.

The test-run, which started in April, last year was officially concluded in December at Sheraton Hotel and Towers in Lagos, with testimonies from participants.

Participants at the event, themed 'JAC Score Card', revealed the performance scorecard of the JAC vehicles and testimonies from the users of the vehicles, "which were generally favorable," according to the organisers.

Participants were drawn from corporate organisations, manufacturing companies, commercial transporters such as Taxi Drivers' Union and car hire operators.

A driver of Evans Medical Plc., Mr. Tunde Osho, described the trucks as durable and rugged, while Mr. Itagbemi of God's Grace Driving School remarked that the air-conditioning, suspension and electrical components of the car performed beyond his expectations. The HR Manager of Cybelle Cosmetics Ltd, Mr. Frank Odeh said "It is portable and I love the interior and exterior design. I would greatly recommend the J5 for corporate executives and the J3 for use as organisation's pool cars. The truck is durable and had no complaints from our Quality Assurance manager."

The results of an independent research commissioned by Elizade Autoland, revealed at the event, showed that the JAC vehicles had performed exceedingly well in all ramifications; suspension systems, braking system, the AC, electrical system, fuel efficiency and vehicle balance on speed.

Other components assessed included the exterior and interior design, dashboard layout, engine quality and safety system. The Chinese representative of JAC, Mr. Lyrida Lu expressed satisfaction at the performance of the brand, reemphasising JAC's record of excellence in the African continent.

According to him, "JAC is here to stay in Nigeria and technicians are already being trained so that there will be adequate provisions for the after-sales maintenance of the vehicles.

The Managing Director of Elizade Nig. Ltd, Mr. Demola Ade-Ojo added that the performance evaluations revealed at the JAC test-run official closing ceremony would guide the next step for Elizade Autoland and the future of the JAC vehicles in the Nigerian auto market. There were distinguished personalities at the event, including the Consulate General of China in Lagos, Mr. Guo Yulu, a representative of the Vehicle Inspection Office, Mr. Goriola Abdul-Afeez and a representative of the Consumer Protection Council in Nigeria.
