Zanzibar — ZANZIBAR on Sunday celebrated the 50th anniversary of the January 12, 1964 Revolution, with President Ali Mohammed Shein calling for unity, peace and stability as prerequisites to achieve development goals.
In an enthusiastic ceremony at the Amaan Stadium, where thousands of people, braving the scorching sun, turned up to commemorate the day when the gallant and patriotic people's forces overthrew the centuries-old Omani-Arab Sultanate oligarchy, Dr Shein emphasized on hard work, tolerance and love for each other.
