Kenya: Nokia Begins Lumia Black Software Rollout

Owners of the Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 from around the world will from today start to receive the Lumia Black software update on their smartphones that will include new features and superior apps.

Among the notable changes include improvements in imaging, the latest apps and app updates from Microsoft and Nokia all meant to enhance the smartphone experience.

Notably is the updates to the Nokia camera which combines both the Nokia Pro Camera and Smart Camera. The update also brings the raw DNG support that is available to Lumia 1520 owners to Lumia 1020 enabling the tablet to access pure and untouched visual information thus encouraging creativity.

On top of the camera updates the Lumia Black software update also brings the latest generation of imaging algorithms especially to the Lumia 1020 enabling the device to make images more natural looking with reduced noise thanks to the new oversampling algorithm.

Another important update especially while driving is the safe driving mode which reduces distractions and gives each contact a specific ringtone.

The Nokia storyteller app on the other hand will debut on Lumia smartphones for the first time allowing them to arrange photos by date and place thus helping to easily bring out stories behind the pictures with extra context also available through the close integration of interactive maps.

Still in photos the Nokia Beamer enables easy sharing but can also include sharing of documents, presentations, anything you like, to any HTML5-enabled screen by simply scanning a QR code on the screen.

Other features includes the Nokia refocus on all Lumia smartphones, while the Bluetooth LE is enabled across the whole range of Windows Phone 8 Lumia range for compatible gadgets like the Adidas MiCoach accessories.

Finally the apps folder will allow owners to group similar apps and settings into one folder, a tile, on your Start screen while the Nokia Glance screen 2.0 will help you track information in real time, making all your most important notifications including: phone, messages, email, outlook and calendar.
