Egypt: Removing 42 , 000 Cases of Illegal Building On Agricultural Land - Minister

Minister of Local Development Adel Labib said that Egypt's governorates witnessed a marked activity in removing all violations on agricultural lands especially in the provinces of Sharqiya, Menya and Assiut.

He added that up to 42,000 violation cases on agricultural lands have been removed from the three governorates.

The Minister affirmed that all State bodies concerned are cooperating to remove all violations on agricultural lands to put an end to the loss of agricultural lots and guarantee food security for the homeland.

"More than 942,792 cases of illegal building on lands designated for agricultural use took place since the 25th January Revolution in 2011", Labib said, noting that a total of 96, 586 illegal cases have been removed so far nationwide on an area of 5, 550 feddans.
