Two committees of Parliament have been given a go-ahead to probe the controversial standard gauge railway tender deal. After a meeting chaired by the Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi on Monday, it was resolved that the departmental committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing as well as the Public Investment Committee proceed and independently probe the matter. The Transport committee, which is chaired by Starehe MP Maina Kamanda was allowed to conclude the probe it initiated late last year and table a report. The PIC, chaired by Eldas MP Adan Keynan, will start a fresh probe.
