Angola: Government's Effort to Focus On Xangongo/Calueque Road

The construction project of Xangongo/Calueque road in the southern Cunene province's border corridor with neighbouring Namibia deserves special attention by the Angolan Government with a view to enhance trade exchange, said the State Secretary for Construction Ilidio Braz Martins.

Braz Martins said so Saturday at the end of his visit to Calueque village, Ombadja district, southern Cunene province.

He said that the construction of this road is quite vital taking into account the local projects.

Among other projects the official mentioned the installation of the Special Economic Zone ( ZEE ), agriculture, power supply and processing of sugar cane.

According to him, the successful implementation of these projects depends on the road to improve the flow of people and goods as well as boost the economy and new investment for the region's sustainable development.

With the completion of Calueque Dam, scheduled for 2015 , the government's effort will centre on Xangongo/Calueque road, said the State Secretary.
