Zambia: Govt Probes Constitution Committee

VICE-PRESIDENT Guy Scott says the Government is investigating the Technical Committee Drafting the Zambian Constitution following the leakage of the Draft Constitution to the online media.

Dr Scott said this when he featured on Radio Breeze in Chipata last Friday that it was against the terms of reference for the Technical Committee to leak the document before handing it over to the President.

The Draft Constitution was leaked to the Zambian Watchdog during the week and State House has challenged the Technical Committee to clear its name over the document.

"The leaking of the document to the online media like Zambian Watchdog was totally wrong and we are aware that no outsider had the privilege of having looked at the document but it is someone within the panel of the Technical Committee who leaked that information to the media," he said.

Dr Scott reiterated that Government was still waiting for the Technical Committee to hand over the document for further action.
