Egypt: Abdel-Nour - Egypt Seeks Creating Strong Industry Able to Compete Abroad

Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, Mounir Fakhry Abdel-Nour said that the government exerts efforts to create a strong industry with the purpose of enabling it to compete abroad. He added that this comes through eliminating all obstacles in face of industry, enacting appropriate legislations to the business climate and supporting some industries.

The Minister stressed the government's keenness on pumping and attracting fresh investments in the Upper Egyptian governorates. He noted that a number of new programs and projects will be launched during the coming stage.

Abdel-Nour pointed out that an amount of EGP 1.5 billion has been allocated to complete the infrastructure works of nearly 35 industrial zones in 22 governorates.
