Egypt's Mufti Urges Putting Into Effect Rest of Roadmap Plan

Egypt's Mufti Shawki Allam urged on Thursday accelerating the implementation of the remaining steps of the road map, once the amended Constitution is ratified.

Over the past two days, Egypt witnessed a democratic victory with the majority of the Egyptians turning out to polling stations to cast their ballots in a two-day referendum on the new constitution, he said in press statements.

"The Egyptians took their first step on the road of stability and development," he said, adding that it is time to think seriously of a national project that would involve all Egyptians.

He stressed that education and scientific research should be the corner stone of that project.

Allam extended his thanks to all State bodies, especially the police and army, that exerted utmost efforts to secure a trouble-free polling process.
