Timket (Ethiopian Epiphany) is being colorfully celebrated among Orthodox Christians across the country. Timket is the ritual of reliving the actual baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River.
The anniversary is the most significant one within the Ethiopian Orthodox divinity. It is celebrated on Terr 11 of the Ethiopian Calendar, which falls on Jan 19 (or 20 during the leap year) in the Gregorian calendar.
