Nigerians have been expressing their feelings after Nigerian midfielder, John Obi Mikel failed to win the 2013 African Footballer of the Year top crown.
Mikel, who stormed out of the awards venue, was quoted by what the Daily SunSport said was a source close to him, that the organisers assured him that he would emerge the winner. The source further revealed that the midfielder was dejected and embarrassed at the treatment he got at the event. "Mikel was disturbed and couldn't believe how it happened. He was given so much assurance that he was going to win it, only for the story to change at the end of the day.
