Nigeria: Ekiti Elders Lament Spate of Violence

Ado-Ekiti — Senior citizens in Ekiti State under the aegis of Ekiti Council of Elders yesterday expressed concern over what they described as upsurge of violence in the state ahead of the 2014 governorship election.

They, therefore, cautioned politicians to stop killing and maiming innocent citizens in the interest of peace. In a communiqué issued after a meeting held at the residence of the convener of the forum, Chief Deji Fasuan, the elders said the state would have witnessed greater development if the unity they had before its creation had been sustained.
