Less than a week after Alhaji Bamanga Tukur resigned as chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed him as the chairman of the board of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).

Nwaobasi added that the appointments take effect from January 8th, 2014.

At the heat of the pressure on Bamanga Tukur to resign from his position as chairman of the PDP last week, media report had it that Jonathan promised Tukur a tougher job when he resigns.

Former governor of Bauchi state, Ahmed Adamu Muazu was on Monday selected as the new chairman of the party.
