Kenya: Nairobi Restaurant Week 2014 Launch

For the first time ever Nairobi will host restaurant week, which has been a popular phenomenon all over the world including cities such as New York, London, Amsterdam and Cape Town. The concept was officially launched on Friday morning at the Heineken headquarters along Peponi Road, Westlands in Nairobi.

Nairobi Restaurant Week is organised by Taste Events in partnership with Heineken, while Kiss 100FM, Classic 105FM, XFM, East FM are the media partners. It is about applauding the finest food the city has to offer. The top chefs are putting their culinary skills to the test so that restaurant-goers can experience a one-off limited edition celebratory menu.

For eight days between January 30-February 6 patrons will be able to experience a special menu at 50 of the city's top restaurants for a fixed price of Sh1250 or Sh1750.

EatOut and Taste Events director Mikul Shah commented, "The concept was conceived over two years ago. We feel Nairobi is now finally ready for its very own and we are delighted to bring the inaugural restaurant week to the city. We hope that patrons will embrace the opportunity with much enthusiasm and delight".
