Tanzania Launches Child Protection Project

Tanzanian Minister for Health and Social Welfare Seif Rashid on Wednesday (January 23rd) launched a European Union-funded project to protect children against violence and abuse, Tanzania's Daily News reported.

The 4-billion shilling ($4.5 million) project will raise awareness about the threats children face from violence in the home, in schools and in their communities in order to encourage changes in behaviour and attitudes that will keep children safe.
