The Kenya Film Commision has joined the bangwagon to congratulate Kenyan actress based in the US for her stellar performance in the Oscar nominated film, 12 Years A Slave.

In a release sent to Word Is, Kenya Film Commision writes to Lupita Nyongo, "Pongezi! From the Nairobi Phoenix theatre to the Oscars- the Kenya Film Commission celebrates the news of your recent awards in 24 categories for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, the Hamptons International film festival's breakthrough performer for 2014, Screen Actors Guild award for outstanding female performance in a supporting role and numerous other pending awards."

They continue, "You are a wonderful inspiration, role model and pioneer to Kenyan actors and actresses. Good luck at the Oscars 2014- 86 Academy Awards! May your effort, dedication and talent be rewarded. Here's to many more Kenyans following in your footsteps. Wishing you a stellar future from all of us here in Kenya."

They concluded with, "Africa celebrates you!"

According to Catherine Gitahi KFC's manager, corporate affairs, there are "plans underway to premier 12 Years A Slave with Lupita and some other VIP in attendance."

Already, in the Star's Leisure page, there are definite slots allocated for the movie premiere at several cinema like Fox Cinaplex in Sarit Centre, Century Cinemax at the Junction and at the Nyali Cinemax.
