During a hot afternoon on Wednesday, January 24, 2014, the wide premises of the Addis Abeba Exhibition & Market Development Enterprise (AAEME), located near Meskel Square on Jomo Kenyatta Street, was flashing with the display of both local and imported products. Although organisers feared a low turnout when the Addis Shopping Festival, which is aimed at replicating the experience of the Dubai Shopping Festival, opened on January 17, 2014, the event has been witnessing a steady flow of foot traffic.
It is hoped that the event, which has been organised by Century Promotion Services - a veteran in the business - will contribute positively to the facilitation of access to market and business linkages.
