Kenya: LSK Calls for More Industrial Courts

27 January 2014

The Law Society of Kenya has called for the establishment of industrial courts in every county to speed up hearings. Speaking in Eldoret town on Friday, LSK chairman Eric Mutua said many people are forced to travel to Kisumu or Nakuru towns for court cases.

He was addressing a seminar on labour organised by the LSK. Mutua urged the lawyers to read on labour laws. "Members need to be conversant with the international laws that govern the labour market as it is the only channel for them to execute their mandate properly."
