Nigeria: Be Delta's First Female Governor, Okonta Urges Olejeme

The Chairman, Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) Mrs. Ngozi Olejeme, has been urged to make history by contesting the 2015 governorship election to become the first female governor of Delta State.

Enlisting support for Olejeme at the 2014 annual Thanksgiving Day organised by the Asaba Development Union in Abuja, the immediate past chairman of the Abuja District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Chief Fred Okonta said his call was premised on the outstanding achievements of Mrs. Olejeme, especially in the turn-around of NSITF and implementation of the Employee Compensation Act under her leadership. Okonta said the role played by Olejeme in the rehabilitation of widows, orphans, graduates and less privileged people in Delta State also endears her to the people.
