Egypt: Interior Ministry Senior Official Killed By Two Assailants

Interior Minister's Techincal Office Head Mohamed al-Saeed was shot dead on Tuesday morning, the Interior Ministry said.

"Two men riding a motorcycle cut off the car al-Saeed was in and shot gunfire at it in al-Haram street," said the Interior Ministry's statement.

The statement added that the security apparatus is intensifying its efforts to investigate the murder and capture the perpetrators.

Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim has survived an assassination attempt near his home last September.
