Somalia: Former Somali Prime Minister Dies

A former Somali prime minister died in a Minneapolis hospital on Friday.

Macalester Professor Ahmed Samatar told KARE 11 that he believes that Abdirizak Haji Hussein is one of the two most distinguished Somali political figures since World War II.

According to the Somali Current, an online news site that caters to Somali residents, Hussein suffered pneumonia. He had been hospitalized for the past week.

The Somali Current says that Hussein 90-years-old. He was the second Prime Minister of Somalia nominated by the country's first president Aden Abdulle Osman
