Somalia: Heavy Fighting Occurs in Kismayu City

Kismayu — At least 5 people have been confirmed dead and scores injured after a heavy fighting broke out on Saturday evening betweeen Alshabab fighters aided by the locals of Gobweyne against their opponents against the troops of the interim Juba administration. the Fighting started when the Shabab fighters attacked a base manned by the Juba which is located at the outskirts of Kismayu, the capital of the lower Juba region. an eyewitness told Shabelle radio that the fighting was intense and heavy and witnessed the dead bodies of 5 people. efforts made by Shabelle to contact the interim Juba administration was unsucceful. finally the situation of Gobweyn is reported to be intense as Alshabab fighters aided by the locals against the troops belonging to the Juba administration remains of the radar. for more news about todays fighting and more other news log on to Shabelle.net
