Somalia: Motorists Face Problems Poised By Illegal Road Barriers

Marka — Drivers in the lower Shabelle region of Somalia are having problems from illegal road blocks poised by armed men who charge or at times loot civilians of their belongings.

after abandoning the major roads leading to the region, the drivers thought small tarmacked roads will be safer bath but still the problems are still existing as stated by one of the drivers who talked to Shabelle radio via the phone.

the drivers organized a strike last week which brought a halt to transportation from the capital to the volatile region.

the federal Government has started a mission to cleanse the men dressed in Government dresses who control almost dozens of road blocks in the lower Shabelle region by sending special forces to tackle the armed men.
