Kenya: Elderly Want Free Health Services

THE old people from Kiambu county have appealed to the government to provide free health care for them as they cannot afford it. A survey done by Naitera Community Empowerment Programme indicated 52 per cent of the respondents were not accessing free health care services.

Bernard Ndung'u, the programme coordinator of Naitera Community Empowerment Programme NaCEP said 50 per cent of old people in Kiambu are left to take care of themselves. Ndung'u was speaking in Kiambu town on Thursday during a meeting with old people and MCAs.
