Namibia: Three Caught Poaching in Omaruru

THE OWNER of a transport company in Omaruru, Terence Nel (40), and two other residents, Josefat Jonas (50) and Olavi Markus (54), appeared in the Omaruru Magistrate's Court last week on charges pertaining to illegal hunting.

According to Regional Crime Investigation Coordinator, deputy commissioner Ottilie Kashuupulwa, the men were arrested at Nel's business workshop on Wednesday evening after the police were informed that they were transporting an oryx, which they had allegedly poached on Farm Ombudya near Wilhelmsdal in the Omaruru District.
