Director of Inspectorate, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Moyamba District, Mohamed Sesay, has disclosed to Concord Times that pupils who sat to the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) prior to 2010 would not be allowed to write the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in 2014.
Sesay said the reason for the policy decision is because the ministry expects all those who sat to the BECE before 2010 to have completed Senior Secondary School, and that allowing such candidates to attempt the public WASSCE would be sending a negative message.
