THE site where a new head office for the Roads Authority is to be built at an estimated cost of N$220 million should not be handed over to the company that was awarded the construction contract until a judgement on a legal challenge on the tender has been given, it was ordered in the Windhoek High Court on Friday.
Acting Judge Collins Parker gave the order stopping the handover of the construction site after hearing oral arguments on an urgent application by a Chinese construction company, New Era Investments, to have the award of the contract to build the new Roads Authority (RA) head office to a Namibian-owned competitor, Namibia Construction, set aside.
